Affidavit by Joseph Buda on behalf of Elias Epstein
Description
Affirms that he worked with Elias Epstein in the camp during summer 1943, and found out around that time his parents were imprisoned in Czechoslovakia. In 1945, he was in Buchenwald with Elias. He reports that Elias could not lift things as quickly as he had before because he was no longer as strong, and so an SS officer came up to him, and hit him with a beam, until unconscious. Elias was brought to a hospital, and the doctors did not think he would live. They were also in Landsberg DP camp together.
